We stayed at the Young Mansion to celebrate my 50th Birthday. It was a perfect venue for 15 people and two bulldogs from six states to gather and hang out! Airport runs were easy as were trips to the beach and one South Beach Miami trip. Richard Vest is an exceptionally easy owner to work with. He responded to my inquiries within minutes and answered all my questions quickly before I booked. He provided good tips to fully enjoy the property prior to check-in and the property manager and cleaning crew were responsive to our minor needs.
This is nearly 100 year old home. A few doors didn’t quite latch or unlatch without a wiggle. The AC was cranked up high and one person of the 15 thought it was a little warm. Living in the south and knowing the heat I thought they systems were working well. There are a few screws loose here and there but as a homeowner I would never expect perfection. Something ALWAYS needs a little love in a home. The quirks remind you of the home’s history and reinforced why I would much rather travel this way than a cookie cutter resort. Having said that… this house is exactly as presented. Its photos are nearly perfect, and there is no trick photography that makes a room appear bigger or nicer than it really is. If anything the place is a little nicer than the photos.
We rarely left the house. Meals were fun to prepare in the huge kitchen and I had to work to get people OUT of the kitchen into the many other common areas. The pool was huge and a wonderful hang out spot. We were visited by a wild iguana that captured our attention in the treetops. We ate a couple of mangoes off the tree in the yard. All of that exceeded our expectations. We also had to content with a few mosquitoes in the evenings but Mother Nature is not a property management issue!
I am so pleased with this choice and have zero buyer’s remorse! I just wish I could have stayed longer!

This place was awesome. The photos do not do it justice. If you are looking for something eclectic, original with loads of character...this is it. Wooden beams, old chandeliers hung high above, gorgeous hard wood floors, wrought iron gates everywhere!!! We dined outside by candlelight in the inner courtyard and it sincerely felt like we were in Tuscany...it was simply magical. The property managers were amazing to work with and very accommodating. 4 blocks from the beach which is stunning btw. If I lived on the East coast I would definitely rent this place again for big family gatherings. Much better than a hotel and way more cost efficient

My name is Nayano and I have stayed in Young Mansion about 12 times in the past 3 years. I bring my yoga retreat groups here and we absolutely love the house. The house holds a very special energy that works well with our meditations and processes. We usually have a group of 16-18 adults and even with that many of us living together, we find plenty of our own personal space, never croweded.
Even though there are long breaks and the beach is only a short walk away, most people do not want to leave the grounds....it feels like a sanctuary the holds us in its arms.
Yes, we aren't on vacation, we are there to do our work....but somehow it feels as if we are in our own private resort.
We absolutely Love the house, and I would recommend this place highly.

As my dear beautiful friend Nayano hosts week-long workshops at the Mansion often, we had a large group that stayed for 1 week and we had a wonderful time! (Please disregard the date as I wasn't able to select the correct date.) It's an amazing place to stay; the feel, the warmth, the architecture, the detail, etc., etc. I could definitely go on and on. The owners did an amazing job with restoration. And needless to say, we had several amazing meals in that beautiful kitchen. As for the TV, pool table, etc., I have to say that we spent the majority of the visit enjoying great meals, conversation, relaxing by the pool or enjoying a walk on the beach. I don't recall that we had any issues during our stay but I have to believe that the caretaker and owners would've been very responsive. Though unlikely due to personal difficulties, hopeful to be able to visit again.
The house was absolutely beautiful.

I recently rented this property for a region meeting with my sales team and we loved it. We normally put everyone in a hotel but to build the team rapport I decided to do something different. It was a huge success. The house had more than ample room for my team of 13 to sleep and enough bathrooms that we didnt even have to coordinate showers. You could get lost in this house at times it was so large. We used the outside pool area to hold two team building events and had plenty of space. In one of the events we had a team building company come in to build boats from cardboard and duck tape. The pool was perfect to hold our regatta competition that followed. The kitchen was huge and the dining room was perfect to hold our learning sessions and play poker and games at night. The house is also nicely decorated and was thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival. My team commented that this was the perfect place to have our meeting and it was the best they had attended. Bret and Wendi were easy to do business with and very responsive to our needs and information requests. I would recommend doing business with them and this property to anyone.
Michael was extremely helpful. We had a couple of questions regarding a drip. He followed up very quickly. The house was well stocked in a great location and even nicer than the photos. 18 adult women with particular tastes celebrating a 50- year-old birthday we have absolutely no complaints. If ever in the area I would rent this mansion again.
An amazing and beautiful property dated 1929 and many original architectural details.

Our annual family reunion during the week of 8/6 was one of the best out of 13 so far, all due to this amazing home. There were 17 of us all sleeping comfortably with the aid of a few air mattresses on fold out couches. The kitchen was so roomy as to allow three to work on making meals without collision. Huge refrigerator and a gas stove/oven. Plenty of dishes and containers to support the clan. A massive wood table with 8 chairs but we managed to add several other chairs to seat 17. We spent time playing cards and celebrating my father's 90th birthday. Kudos to the house management who responded quickly to our requests. We needed the stair hand rail secured among a few other minor needs. Our only concerns were the traffic noise in the bedroom street side. This is only because the windows are original frames, and hardware. All the other bedrooms were reasonably quiet. This is a fine home for reunions but also perfect for murder mystery dinner games. Dark wood, metal work, thick drapery and stonework. We'd return should my father want to try for #14.
We had a fantastic stay at the Young Mansion and I would highly recommend to anyone thinking of staying in the area. I had booked the property to celebrate my husbands 40th birthday with a suprise family reunion - the house was spacious and comfortable for the 20 of us with a beautiful pool and garden area to relax by during the day. Although the kitchen was very well equipped we purchased a couple of other items during our stay to cater for the specific requirements of our group - Richard was so accommodating and purchased these items from us at the end of our stay (something that he did not need to do but was much appreciated as could not be taken with us). Thank you Richard for sharing your beautiful house!

This was a 20 person family stay, Plenty of room for everyone, everyone was impressed with the whole estate, all took many photos and promptly posted everything on Facebook. Easy to talk to owner or caretaker. no issues, owner returned deposit right away. Courtyard and pool used everyday. This is an older mansion but that is part of the charm. Most important review was my family all say this pick was a HOME-RUN!!!

We had 4 families in the house for Easter/Spring Break this year and even with 11 kids and 7 adults we had plenty of space. The house is spectacular and is truly a destination on its own, but the house combined with the pool and access to the beach made for an incredible Spring Break. We cooked many times, which is not always easy for 18 people, but had no issues with anything in the kitchen. The pool is much bigger than it appears in the pictures, and we typically spent half a day in the pool and half at the beach. All in all a great week and fantastic accommodations. With the kids ranging in age from 6-15, we never heard once that they were bored or there was nothing to do, they were busy the whole day. I would also recommend the Polynesian Dinner and Show at a Fort Lauderdale restaurant called The Mai-Kai. It was about a 30 minute drive but well worth it. Thanks to Richard for making it easy for us and we would all definitely come back.
